We are committed to a safe place to live by helping vulnerable individuals from different cultures develop a quality of life.
Amethyst Residence, operated by Non-Profit Independent Consultants, Inc. (NPIC), has been providing a safe haven for homeless individuals with underlying medical conditions since our establishment in 2013. Our goal is to promote self-sufficiency by helping our residents secure suitable housing and offering a range of important services, including:
• Supportive housing shelter for single individuals, single men and women, single adult families, and families with children who have been diagnosed with HIV and AIDS.
• Mental health services and addiction treatment
• Housing options for sex offenders
• Medical care and other necessary services through our partnerships with supportive organizations
• Re-entry assistance for individuals transitioning back into society
• Linked case management for personalized support
• Home health aide services
• Permanent housing opportunities NPIC has strong connections with various external agencies that provide valuable support services to our temporary residents.
These resources help individuals gain valuable knowledge and skills to assist them in making important decisions for their future. We acknowledge that we are not perfect and do not have all the answers, but we are dedicated to offering support services to help individuals address their issues. This can be difficult, especially for those who have experienced a painful journey. However, with the help of our community linkages, we can work together as a team to promote a better quality of life for our clients.

Non-Profit Independent Consultants Inc Mission: Our organization is dedicated to creating a clean and secure environment for individuals with HIV, addiction, mental health issues, and other underlying conditions. Our services are available throughout the five boroughs of New York and throughout the entire country. Services: We offer emergency shelter for single individuals, couples, and families with children who have been referred to us by the Department of Social Services City of New York Human Resources Administration, and the NYS Department of Corrections. Impact: Through collaboration with our partners, Non-Profit Independent Consultants Inc has successfully placed over 130 homeless individuals into permanent and safe apartments within New York City.
